This guide is formulated with a view to standardizing the earthing design of hydropower plant to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment when the power system is operating under normal or faulty conditions, and to make earthing design technically advanced and cost-effective.
This guide is applicable to the earthing design of all electrical installations and facilities in hydropower plants.
This guide specifies the general principles, procedures and methods of the earthing design for hydropower plants and the measurement of power frequency parameters of the earthing system. In the earthing design for hydropower plants, an overall earthing design scheme shall be developed according to local conditions.
In addition to this guide, the earthing design of hydropower plants shall comply with other current relevant standards of China.
