China is a diversity hotspot for fungi of the Boletaceae family (boletes). Many boletes have been traditionally treated as members of the genus Tylopidus based on the color of the hymenophores or the spore prints. The aims of this book are to delimit and recognize the diversity both of the genera and species of Tylopilus s.l. in China. Our morphological and multi locus phylogenetic studies reveal that the traditinally defined Tylopilus species cluster in 19 genera in Boletaceae, ineluding two new genera, viz. Abtylopilus Yan C. Li and amp; Zhu L. Yang and Anthracopons Yan C. Li and amp; Zhu L. Yang and 17 known genera, viz. Austroboletus (Cormer) Wolfe, Chiua Yan C. Li and amp; Zhu L. Yang, Fistulinella Henn, Harrya Halling, Nuhn and amp; Osmundson, Hymenoboletus Yan C. Li and amp; Zhu L. Yang, Indoporus A. Parihar, K. Das, Hembrom and amp; Vizzini, Lecinellum Bresinsky and amp; Manfr. Binder, Mucilopilus Wolfe, Porphyrellus E-J. Gilbert, Pseudoaustroboletus YanC. Li and amp; Zhu L. Yang. Retiboletus Manfr. Binder and amp; Bresinsky, Royoungia Castellano, Trappe and amp; Ma lajczuk, Sutorius Halling, Nuhn and amp; NA. Fechner, Tylocinwm YanC. Li and amp; Zhu L. Yang, Tylopilus P. Karst, Veloporphyelus L.D. Gomez and amp; Singer, and Zangia Yan C. Li and amp; Zhu L. Yang. A total of 19 genera and 105 species including 34 new species and four new combinations are documented and ilustrated in this monographic work.
