This textbook is designed primarily to be used as a matching textbook of medical organic chemistry. It is suitable for international students majoring in clinical medicine, basic medicine, public health or other disciplines, and can also serves as teaching textbook for long-term education and bilingual education in medical colleges.
This textbook is divided into two parts. Part one deals with experimental organic chemistry which contains general introduction, common chemical laboratory apparatus and laboratory experiments. Introduction mainly discusses laboratory rules, safety rules and regulations, experimental requirements, report writing, etc. Part one also introduces the common glass apparatus and techniques used in organic chemistry laboratory. Laboratory experiments cover basic experiments, comprehensive experiments and designing experiment, which are described in detail in the textbook not only to teach basic operations, but also to develop the scientific qualities of students. Experimental organic chemistry provides a good link between theory and practice in organic chemistry. Part two deals with solutions for all chapter problems of medical organic chemistry. Detailed answers to chapter problems are included in this textbook. The medical organic chemistry is an important basic course, this textbook will help students to comprehend and master the theoretical knowledge of organic chemistry.
We would like to thank all the people who contributed in this project for their arduous labor in the writing of each content. We would also like to acknowledge Tsinghua University Press.
Despite our best efforts, we are certain that there are deficiencies which are inevitable due to inexperience. We sincerely welcome any comments, criticisms, and suggestions from teachers and students for improving our textbook.
