前 言
这本书是为专业人士而写, 它要强调的是一种职业、一份事业, 而不是一个嗜好或“ 一时兴起”。业余演讲在社群、民间协会、宗教组织等类似团体中是很重要的,而且是需要持续改进的。像Toastmaster( 演讲俱乐部) 之类的协会,数十年来一直在为业余演讲者提供帮助,使他们在此领域精进。
然而,从业余演讲者到专业演讲家,是一个质变的过程。专业演讲家是收费的,用迷人又有趣的方式,讲述着相关的、重要的内容。
遗憾的是,那些关于如何打开市场、创造收费价值的内容,多数只是行业“传说”。
就像我在这里写的一样,大多数的职业演讲师的收入与付出不成正比。
我在书中想告诉你的是,职业演讲是一份事业,不是工作、职位、娱乐、爱好,从业者可期待据此过上想要的生活。演讲是生意,毫不逊色于其他的商业模式。
任何一位商人都不希望接受非专业的评判,也不愿意以非专业的方式收费。
