內容簡介:
Ihis book provides an extensive discussion of echocardiography-guided percutaneous interventional techniques for clinical practitioners, including cardiologists, interventional physicians, surgeons and specialist training candidates. It allows readers to gain a thorough understanding of interpreting echocardiography-guided procedures, which not only protect patients from pain and other complications associated with conventional surgery, but also obviate the use of fluo-roscopy or contrast agents and so avoid radiation damage and the risks of allergy or renal function impairment. Further, these proce-dures could help to save patients in areas lacking medical resources. The book first demonstrates the substitution of transesophageal for transthoracic echocardiography to avoid intubation under general anesthesia, and then presents key technical and practical aspects of echoguided percutaneous interventions for structural heart diseases, such as ASD, VSD, PDA, PS, MS, AS and CoA. Lastly, it explores the lessons learned in echocardiography, anesthesia and postprocedural management of echoguided percutaneous interventions.
目錄
前言The rapid evolution of transcatheter therapies for structural heart disease (SHD) often requires expensive and advanced technology which may be available in only a limited number of aca-demic centers. The lack of trained multidisciplinary specialists in SHD combined with subop-timal technical facilities in many institutions has created an "access-to-care" crisis. This dilemma is accentuated in developing countries, they have the special challenge of managing
healthcare for vast numbers of patients in rurallocations. Therefore, Chinese physician leaders have been encouraged to develop innovative cost-effective solutions to provide optimal care for a growing number of patients with severe SHD syndromes.
Prof.Xiangbin Pan, from the National Center of Cardiovascular Disease, Fuwai Hospitalin China, has authored a novel textbook entitled Percutaneous and Non-jluoroscopical Procedure for Structural Heart Disease which was first published in China in 2016 and republished inThe rapid evolution of transcatheter therapies for structural heart disease (SHD) often requires expensive and advanced technology which may be available in only a limited number of aca-demic centers. The lack of trained multidisciplinary specialists in SHD combined with subop-timal technical facilities in many institutions has created an "access-to-care" crisis. This dilemma is accentuated in developing countries, they have the special challenge of managing

Prof.Xiangbin Pan, from the National Center of Cardiovascular Disease, Fuwai Hospitalin China, has authored a novel textbook entitled Percutaneous and Non-jluoroscopical Procedure for Structural Heart Disease which was first published in China in 2016 and republished in
2018.In this textbook, Dr.Pan offers what may be an important step forward in the healthcare management of SHD patients by describing in detail the techniques for performing non-fluoroscopic, echocardiographic-guided procedures including: atrial and ventricular septal defect occlusion, patent ductus arteriosus occlusion, transcatheter aortic valve implantation, percutaneous balloon mitral commissurotomy, pulmonary valvuloplasty for pulmonic steno-sis, dilatation of coarctation of the aorta, and closure of the left atrial appendage. His novel approach to SHD interventions using echocardiographic guidance without the requirement of fluoroscopic imaging or a conventional catheterization laboratory has the potential to impor-tantly expand accessibility for patients, will significantly decrease economic expenditures, reduce complications associated with iodinated contrast agents, and eliminate exposure of the patient and structural heart team to unnecessary radiation.Transcatheter therapy for SHD is among the fastest growing subspecialties in cardiovascular medicine. An essential component has been multi-modality noninvasive imaging for diagnosis, procedure guidance, and follow-up.Dr.Pan has cultivated a unique skill and makes a strong case to further elevate echo guid-ance for SHD procedures, as demonstrated clearly in his latest textbook edition. With the supportive contribution from ACC and SCAI, experts from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Turkey, and Japan for translating the book Percutaneous and Non-furoscopical Procedure for Structural Heart Disease from Chinese to English version.
Although this approach of sole echo guidance may not be optimal for some patients and may gain acceptance initially in more resource-constrained environments, the learned skills will have widespread application in advancing transcatheter SHD treatment. Moreover, the inexorable bond between the proceduralists surgeons and interventionalists) and imaging experts is strongly reinforced when applying the innovation model of Dr.Pan.For these rea-sons, we avidly embrace the dissemination of this creative new textbook within the SHD com-munity, as another valued tool which can be incorporated into the SHD treatment armamentarium.
