本书稿由上海中国航海博物馆提供，为广域万象：人类航海的纬度与面向国际学术研讨会的会议论文集。收录有15篇学术论文。文集围绕海上交流展开，时间上从从宋代直至近代，空间上从中国近海直到远洋地区。论文主题既有历史地理方面的文献考证，也有沉船考古的资料研究，还有近代舟船、船模研究，展示了人类航海活动的多个维度和面向。

中国航海博物馆China Maritime Museum是我国首个经国务院批准设立的国家级航海博物馆，是由国家交通运输部、中国人民解放军海军、国家文物局和上海市人民政府共同支持建设的中国唯一的国家级航海博物馆。位于上海浦东临港新城。2006年1月20日在临港新城滴水湖举行中国航海博物馆工程开工奠基仪式，2010年7月5日全面建成开放。
