The year 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the People''s Republic of China (PRC).
In his speech at the gathering to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up drive, Chinese President Xi Jinping pointed out: "The founding of the Communist Party of China, the founding of the PRC, and the drive to introduce reform, opening up and Chinese socialism are three historical events of China since the May Fourth Movement in 1919, and also three milestones on our journey to revitalize the Chinese nation since the mid-19th century" The founding of the PRC marks a great transition from feudal autocracy to people''s democracy, ushering in a new era of the Chinese nation.
Seven decades of unspeakable hardships have created the China miracle. After the PRC''s founding, the Communist Party of China(CPC)led the Chinese people to carry out socialist transformation and established socialism in China, introducing the most profound social change in Chinese history. This laid down the fundamental political and institutional basis for the progress of contemporary China, making it possible for the nation to turn the tables and strive for a better future.
