The practice was founded in 2012 by Albert Company Olmo and Jan Glasmeier. Our firm is based in Mae Sot, Thailand, and works with marginalized groups, community based organizations, and NGOs along theThaiMyanmar border and Chiang Mai.
Besides working on several school projects, we are the consulting architects on the local Mae Tao Clinic, a health center which provides free healthcare for Myanma refugees.
Our goal as architects is to promote sustainability in construction by introducing alternative materials, such as bamboo and adobe, promoting the importance of mapping projects, creating networks among architectural organizations, and conducting workshops for local sta..

Kwe Ka Baung School In the limegreen landscape of Mae Pa, in the Mae Sot district of northern Thailand, beside a round pond and lotus
flowers, we built the second phase of the construction of Kwe Ka Baung School between October 2013 and March 2014. The project aims to provide education to displaced children who have arrived with their families from Karen State, in neighboring Myanmar, fleeing the
ongoing civil conflict.
Students, as well as those involved in the twophase construction process, will benefit from this project. Several Karen workers are refining their skills in adobe brickmaking, while contributing to the design that we implemented. The program aims to show the community a feasible way to pursue a.ordable architecture without compromising spatial quality, while maintaining a strong connection to the landscape.
The Canadian aid organization Casira contacted us in March 2012 and asked us to find a project in which they could get involved and for which they could raise funds. After fundraising $25,000, some 10members of Casira traveled to Thailand to participate in a fourweek workshop.
