安德鲁·朗（1844～1912），一位毕业于牛津大学、翻译过《伊利亚特》和《奥德赛》的著名学者，他怎么会花费近半生的心血，去编辑整理在一般人看来有些小儿科的童话故事？我们可以从他自己的告白中找到答案：“如果孩子们的世界里没有那神奇美丽的童话，他们的生活将不可想象，他们的童心也得不到完美的塑造！”
