Lubricationcalculationisthemostsuccessfulareaoftribology,usingmathematicalmethodstoobtainnumericalsolutions.Duetothedevelopmentofcomputerscienceintherecenthalfacentury,ithasmaderemarkableachievements.
However,mostbooksontribologymainlyintroducetheoriesorcalculationmethodsoflubrication.Theyrarelygiveanddiscussnumericalcalculationprograms.
Notonlyisthisinconvenientforresearchortheproductionofpracticallubrication,butalsomanysimilarprogrammingtaskshavetobecarriedoutrepeatedly.Furthermore,becauseofthelimitationsoflubricationtheory,somenumericalcalculationprogramsmaygivemistakensolutions,leadingtowrongconclusions.
Thisbookisdifferentfromprevioustheoreticalbooksormonographsonlubrica-tion;itmainlyintroducesthenumericalcalculationprogramsoflubrication,Thisisthemainfeatureofthebook.Someoftheprogramshavebeenusedformanyyearsinlubricationcalculationsandresearchbytheauthor.
