本书为高等院校知识产权专业教育的英语示范教材。全书分为32个单元，共收录涉及知识产权内容的英文文献56篇，以阅读理解为主，辅以专业词汇、文章注释，全面介绍了知识产权的基本理论、相关法律和组织、专利申请文僻的撰写与阅读、知识产权学术交流英语和国家知识产权发展战略的研究等内容；每一单元介绍一个主题，课文后附有口头和笔头练习，便于读者加深对原文和专业问题的理解。

| 關於作者： |
厉宁男，1967年9月出生，江苏省淮安市人，中共党员。1986年毕业于南京农业大学。1992年于南京农业大学获得农学硕士学位。1
996年参加全国律师资格考试，取得律师资格。2002年2月在南京大学获得管理学博士学位知识产权方向。2004年3月在南京大学取得博士后证书知识产权方向，副研究员资格。1992年6月至2004年4月在江苏省知识产权局从事知识产权管理工作。2004年4月作为广州市高层次进人才调至广州市知识产权局从事知识产权管理和研究工作。主要研究方向为知识产权管理实务及知识产权法，发表学术论文四十多篇，出版专著2部，主持承担省部级及其他软科学研究项目二十余项，其中获省部级一等奖一项、二等奖二项、三等奖二项。2002年、2004年分获南京大学优秀博士论文和优秀博士后奖。2004年获国家知识产权局授予的
“全国第一批企事业专利试点先进个人”荣誉称号、2011年获全国知识产权系统“双打”先进个人称号。现为广东省知识产权研究会常务理事，广州市知识产权研究会副理事长，《中国科技论坛》审稿专家，暨南大学、华南理工大学、广东金融学院兼职教授，广东地方法制研究中心研究员，暨南大学法律硕士专业学位研究生兼职导师，广东省、广州市科技决策咨询专家，广州市知识产权专家顾问团专家，广州市科普咨询专家，广州市政府采购评审专家。受聘国家知识产权战略专题评审专家，人选首批全国知识产权领军人才、国家知识产权专家库专家、首批国家“百千万知识产权人才工程”百名高层次人才人选。
