CraigKentGygibeganstudyingandapplyingtheelementsofSixSigmawellbeforetheywereformalizedintotoday’srenownedbreakthroughmethod.AsanengineeringgraduatestudentatBrighamYoungUniversityintheearly1990s,heintegratedthesethen-unorganizedimprovementtechniquesintohisresearchandcoachingofstudentproductdevelopmentteams.Uponbeginninghiscareerin1994atMotorola’sAdvancedManufacturingResearchLabinFlorida,hewasformallyintroducedtothejust-formalizingSixSigmamethod.Itresonateddeeplywithhispreviousfindings.Fromthattime,Craighasapplied,taught,andledSixSigmainallhisendeavors,includingmanagementandtechnicalcapacitiesatMotorola,Iomega,andGeneralAtomics.In1998,CraigfoundedTolStack,Inc.,todevelopcommercialSixSigmasoftwaretools.HealsoworkedforseveralyearsasatechnicalcolleagueofDr.MikelJ.Harry,theoriginalconsultantofSixSigma,co-developingandteachingnewadvancesinitstheoryandapplication.In2002,Craigco-foundedSavviInternational,intowhichTolStackmerged.SavviprovidessolutionsforbusinessperformanceimprovementusingSixSigma,Lean,andBusinessProcessManagementtechniques.CraigactedasthedirectorofSavvi’sproducts,service,andtools.Today,CraigworkswithcompaniesintheUSAandinternationallytointegrateSixSigmapracticesdirectlyintotheircoreoperations.AMasterBlackBelt,CraighaswieldedSixSigmatechniquesnowforover13years,spanningprojectsfromdesigntomanufacturingtobusinessmanagement.Heisalsoanexpertteacher,havinginstructedandmentoredatalllevelsofSixSigma,fromexecutivestoWhiteBelts.BruceDavidWilliamshasbeenfascinatedwithcomplexsystemssincethelaunchofSputnikonhisthirdbirthday.WithundergraduatedegreesfromtheUniversityofColoradoinPhysicsandAstrophysics,heenteredacareerinaerospacesystems,wherehefirstencounteredSixSigmaafterMotorolawontheinauguralBaldridgeAwardin1988.Later,withgraduatedegreesintechnicalmanagementandcomputersciencefromJohnsHopkinsUniversityandColorado,andasamemberoftheHubbleTelescopedevelopmentteam,hewasintriguedbyhowbreakdownsinthesmallestcomponentscouldleadtocolossalsystemfailures.HeenteredtheSixSigmaindustryforgoodinthemid-1990swhenhefoundedasoftwarecompanytopursueproductlife-cycletraceability.BrucehassincebeenfounderandCEOoftwoSixSigmaresearchandtechnologyfirms,andisnowChairmanandCEOofSavviInternational,aproviderofsolutionsforbusinessperformanceimprovementusingSixSigma,Lean,andBusinessProcessManagementtechniques.Heresidesinthehighly-variableenvironmentofthedesertfoothillsofNorthScottsdale,Arizona,withhiswife,twochildren,andanormaldistributionofdogs,cats,birds,andhorses.TerryJamesGustafsoncomesoutoftheworldofbusinessandfinance,andbringsapracticalandentrepreneurialperspectivetoSixSigma.AfteranundergraduatedegreeinfinancefromBaldwin-Wallace,andanMBAdegreefromKentState,hebeganhiscareerinthefieldofaccountingwithKPMGPeatMarwickin1969,andadvancedtoaPartnerpositioninauditing.Afterleavingpublicaccountingin1990,Terryhelpedfound,build,andoperateaseriesoftechnology-basedentrepreneurialventures,includingventure-backedcompaniesaswellasapubliccompany.In2002,Terryco-foundedSavviInternational,whichprovidessolutionsforbusinessperformanceimprovementusingSixSigma,Lean,andBusinessProcessManagementtechniques.TerryservesasSavvi’schieffinanceandoperationsofficer.SincefoundingSavvi,TerryhasbeenimmersedinSixSigmatechniques,helpingtodesignanddevelopSavvi’strainingcoursesinSixSigmaandLean.Inaddition,hehasextensivelytaughtSixSigmacourses,bothinaclassroomandasanonlineinstructor.
