《影评的态度评价特征研究》共九章，第一章主要介绍了研究背景、研究理据、研究目标以及本书的框架结构，使读者对该研究领域有一个较为全面的了解。第二章回顾了以往的媒体语篇评价研究以及系统功能语言学对韵律特征的研究。回顾文献，作者发现国内外学者对媒体语篇的评价研究主要是从多重视角对新闻语篇进行语篇、语义以及评价语法结构的研究。作为媒体语篇的次语类，影评并未受到语言学者的普遍关注，对于影评的研究仍然主要局限在大众传媒领域。因此，本书试图打破这一局限性，从系统功能语言学视角研究影评。另外，系统功能语言对韵律特征的研究主要是人际意义研究，并且局限在小句层面。虽然马丁等人提l出韵律特征可以在语篇层面进行研究，但是他们并没有对此进行进一步的探讨。本书尝试在语篇层面分析评价的韵律特征。基于对前人研究的文献回顾及其存在的局限性的总结，作者李君提出了本书的主要研究问题：影评有什么样的态度评价语义特征？在推进态度表达过程中，影评呈现出怎样的评价韵律特征？介入和级差资源如何调节影评中态度的表达？影评为什么会呈现上述态度评价特征？
