《魔戒》（The Lord of Rings，又译《指环王》）是英国作家约翰 罗纳德 鲁埃尔
托尔金的史诗奇幻小说，是现代正统奇幻文学小说的开山鼻祖，也引发了龙与地下城类型（Dungeons
Dragons）游戏和文学的兴盛。《魔戒》最初在公元1954年至1955年之间出版，是托尔金早期作品《霍比特人》续集，已被翻译成38种语言。
內容簡介：
本书将托尔金的6篇重要作品和附录索引部分，分成1-7卷出版，更为精致，弥补了全3册版本的缺憾。
托尔金原来打算出一本大部头，但是因为在二战后纸张短缺，所以他的想法没能付诸实现。最后小说只能分成三册出版：《魔戒第一部：魔戒再现》（篇1和篇2）、《魔戒第二部：双城奇谋》（篇3和篇4）和《魔戒第三部：王者归来》（篇5和篇6，6个附录，4个索引）
因为这三本小说是如此广泛地分布，所以此作品通常被称为魔戒三部曲。但是严格来说这是不对的，因为其构思就是一部完整的作品。
