Bill Martin, Jr. is one of the outstanding
writers in the education field. He is best known as the author of
the Instant Readers series, which is used in thousands of
schools across the country. As an educator concerned with teaching
young children about the joy of reading, he spends a great deal of
time lecturing to teachers and working with children. He has also
been extensively involved with creating audiovisual material for
classroom use, and has recently begun developing computer
software.
Eric Carle is one of America''s leading children''s book
illustrators. Born in the United States, he spent some time in
Germany where he studied at the Academy of Applied Art in
Stuttgart. His work has won many awards and has been published in
more than a dozen countries around the world.
